Project Description
Recent residential growth has resulted in higher than anticipated
traffic volumes.
Traffic volumes at the Baptist Road interchange are especially heavy and
impacted by peak hour traffic volumes which causes further congestion.
Two-lane bridge over I-25 causes bottlenecks during peak hour traffic periods.
Non-signalized Struthers Road intersection contributes to congestion
at the interchange.
Inadequate on- and off-ramps contribute to congestion on the interstate.

Project Solutions
Improving safety and capacity for Baptist Road Interchange
Coordinate intersection design.
Modify existing access.
Possible frontage road re-alignment

Current Status
Conceptual design phase began spring 2001.
The proposed action has been selected and is being evaluated under
the Environmental Assessment (EA) of I-25.
Schedule for preliminary and final design on hold pending EA.
