The I-25 Bijou - Fillmore Safety Improvement Project, part of the I-25 Corridor Improvements Project through the Pikes Peak Region is complete.

Sound Wall: Start May 1997 -  Complete November 2000

Southbound I-25: Start June 1998  -  Complete December 2002

Northbound I-25: Start March 2000  -  Completed January 2003

The Project Consisted of Improvements to:
Southbound on I-25 between Bijou and Fillmore Streets (more information on Southbound)
Northbound on I-25 between Bijou and Fillmore Streets  (more information on Northbound)
Improvements Included:
bullet imageStraighter alignment of I-25 in both directions.
bullet imageShoulder improvements.
bullet imageLonger acceleration/deceleration lanes.
bullet imageReconstructed interchanges at Uintah Street and Fontanero Street, including
spacenew bridges and longer ramps.
bullet imageImproved signage and lighting on I-25 and at the Bijou, Uintah, Fontanero and Fillmore interchanges.
