Project Description
bullet imageImprove the outdated interchanges and interstate roadway in order to meet
current, higher safety standards.  Specifically, to improve the substandard
access ramps at Rockrimmon Boulevard, Mark Dabling Boulevard and
North Nevada Avenue.

bullet imageDesign an interchange that will help improve traffic flow for both current and
future conditions.  Improvements will be consistent with recommendations
of the Environmental Assessment to address mobility throughout the I-25
Corridor in El Paso County.

bullet imageReduce the number of access points in this segment of the interstate. Too
many closely spaced on- and off-ramps create difficult conditions for
motorists entering and exiting the interstate.

bullet imageImprove local traffic mobility, including a better east-west connection
between North Nevada Avenue and Rockrimmon Boulevard.

Project Solutions
The new interchange concept includes a plan for local street reconfigurations
in collaboration with the City of Colorado Springs that accommodates local
traffic patterns and improves interchange access.
An interchange concept has been identified that responds to the operational
requirements of the site and the concerns and desires of the Colorado
Department of Transportation (CDOT), the City and the local community.
