Stone Arch Entry to Monument Valley Park
The stone arch entry monument located at the northwest corner of Bijou and Sierra Madre Streets is of historic significance. Through coordination with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHIPO), the structure will undergo preservation improvements including raising the stone arch and surrounding grade in order to (1) maintain the visibility of the monument once the bridge is reconstructed and (2) eliminate the need for access stairs off of the Bijou bridge structure, This will ensure that the bridge improvements and existing monument are compatible.
